I need some advice. You have mentioned that you work in HR. If I have a staff member that, how do you say it, should be wearing a lined bra but who's nipples are clearly visable. Would you address it? If so, how should I approach it?

Hi Kerri - thanks for the question. It is definitely a touchy subject, but one that may very likely need addressing.

It depends on a few things - Does this person report to you? How often does this happen? Is it obvious a good portion of the time? What is the environment like? Is it casual or more business? Does she interact with co-workers & customers throughout the day or stay in a back office? etc...

If your answers were - a lot, often obvious, professional environment that requires working with others - then you may need to delicately address it. If she reports to you - address it directly, but with tact (keep it light - "just a quick reminder - you need to make sure your fully covered/lined at work").

If she doesn't reprot to you, either talk to HR or I'd suggest informally grabbing her for a few minutes after lunch and say something to this effect:

"Hey, do you mind if I mention something to you? I wanted to let you know that you may need a bit more coverage on top (hand motion here...). I just wanted to make sure we're all looking out for each other. I was just at Victoria Secret and they have some great deals going on for nice lined bras!"

Good luck :)

Thanks for the advice, but I took a different approach today and left a pair of those adhesive silicone nipple covers in her desk as a subtle hint. Maybe that wasn't too tackful. :)

LOL! That is classic! Ok, so not the most up front way to deal with it, but I bet it will be effective none the less! You'll have to let me know what happens b/c now you've got me interested.. :)

Well, today she wore a padded bra. But it was a padded bra that made her boobs look even bigger than they already are! I think she must be proud of her girls an likes the attention. Why do some people just not get it? Ugh!
