Kinda suit-ish….. but not

DSCF3167 DSCF3166

White ruffle blouse: Sophisticate Miss.  Olive blazer: DKNY Jeans.  Pants: Style & Co.  Shoes: Guess.

DSCF3168

I’m still in lurve with this blazer– this is my idea of a suit (okay, very casual sort-of suit)!  I paired it with a crisp white to bring out the deeper olive and gray tones in the look.  As always – a nice “pop” with the contrasting pattern heels  :)

I’m still staying true to my goals (thus far) – so tonight I still need to get in a workout and make some home-made butternut squash soup (mmm!).  I better get busy!

I love this outfit. The jacket is wonderful. Its as close to a suit as I could get away with at my job, without the side looks and jokes about interviewing elsewhere LOL

I adore the details on that jacket - especially the bottom! It looks great on you.

Can I ask you a question? You mentioned in a previous post that you are tall...how do you managed to find pants long enough to wear with heels? Do you get them tailored? I am about 5'5" but I have long legs and am consider myself lucky to find pants that work with flats or kitten heels at the most...

Anon - surely. I'm 5'8" so I feel pain for anyone trying to find long enough pants!

My rules of thumb:

1. Know your inseam, so when purchasing a brand that lists inseam, you can know right from the start what leg length you need (always adding a couple inched for heels!)

2. Never shop juniors. Juniors pants are always short and are not made for a grown woman's body.

3. Try different brands and remember to purchase from the brands that fit you best.

4. I typically buy Tall pants and have them hemmed if needed.

Hope this helps!

This is a great alternative to a suit. It fits you perfectly, and the details on the jacket are so chic!

I love the jacket (I am a total jacket junkie), and the pop of pattern with the leopard shoes. A great classic look!
