Country

I escorted my mom to a Lyle Lovett concert last night and had a blast! I had never heard any of Lyle's music and didn't know much about him except that he had been married to Julia Roberts, so I Googled him to see what type of music I was to expect.

He was listed as a country singer, so I put on my best cowgirl outfit and hoped for the best. I am definitely not a fan of country music, but for my mom, I figured I would put on a brave face.

I was delighted to find that I really enjoyed his music. I would never have classified him as country -- the concert was a mix of everything from soul/gospel, jazz, pop, to bluegrass.......you name it, he did it.

I guess I will just have to remember to keep an open mind. You never know, one day I may just put on my boots again and head out to round me up some cattle....

My cowgirl outfit consisted of a black jean vest (a steal for $3), tan leather belt with gold & glittery buckle, jean skirt with high front slit, and tan mid-calf boots.

The outfit came out cute. Cowgirl done your way, in a modern version of course. And yeah I wouldn't classify Lyle as country either, More bluegrass with a little pop. =) I love the vest. It could be worn as a top only (as you did) or as a vest. Great find. Fun, orange-brown boots, too.
